
What you need to know


Birthdays
- Birthdays are very important and should be celebrated
- Please discuss it with me whenever it is your child's birthday so that we can arrange a party at school
- Children may donate a suitable book to the school on their birthday

Toys
- Please do not allow your child to bring any toys to school as they may get lost or broken, and this could cause unnecessary trauma
- However, your child may bring something interesting to show the class and we will ensure that it is kept safe

Charities
- The school supports various charities throughout the year
- The children could bring a coin to school once a week to add to our collection, which we will donate at the end of the term as a lump sum

School Times
- It is important for your child to arrive at school on time so as not to miss out on the early activities
- They may arrive at school between 08h00 and 09h00
- Children should be picked up promptly at 12h00

Toiletries
- Please bring the following items at the beginning of each school term:
- One box of tissues
- One liquid soap, and
- Two rolls of toilet paper

School Fees
- All school fees should be paid at the beginning of the term
- Please give us a terms notice if you are leaving the school

School Bag
- Your child needs to bring a labeled bag to school daily
- Please include a full change of clothing, wet wipes and two nappies per day

Child Health
- Children that feel unwell must stay at home. It is to your child’s advantage to spend a quiet morning at home so that he/she can recover.
- We should respect the health of our friends as it is not kind to spread germs

Fine Motor Skills
- We focus on fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination wiht our creative art work and indoor activity playtimein the morning.
- Our early morning routine also encourages social and cognitive developement.

Gross Motor Skills
- As part of our active outdoor play, Irene's Playschool offers Playball© to enhance and develop gross motor skills.
- The Playball© team come to our school every Monday during school time as an added activity for the children.
